I was raised in New Plymouth, under the shadow of Mount Taranaki (Egmont), New Zealand, in a doctor’s family.[image:33]
Confirmed in the Anglican Church, I had a warmth towards Christianity but didn't fully embrace it until age 19 when, with the influence of friends and family, I committed to Christ.
I joined the Assembly of God in New Plymouth and was elected to the governing church board, serving for two years.
After a world trip, my wife Georgie and I moved to Perth and enrolled at Rhema Bible College.
Upon graduating we moved to Auckland to plant a Christian work and after handing over the work, moved to Wellington to take up a position as Director and associate pastor of a church and bible college.
I was then called back to Perth to a position of teacher, associate pastor and counsellor at Rhema Family Church and Bible College.
During this time I was ordained and received a Bachelor of Ministry Degree.
A lifelong student of scripture and an interest in human psychology, I believe the age old human condition has never really changed. Self-Centredness and Self-Will which best describes the old fashion word sin.
Discovering Life’s Solution
Now in my early sixties, I am committed to the Church which is established by Christ and intended to be the foundation and pillar of the truth and the rock of the revelation of the identity of Jesus Christ. Matt 16; 1Tim 3.
I have faith in the one who intervened in human history - the fulfilment of the Old Testament prophecy, born of a virgin, who lived a faultless life, and demonstrated his Love by giving Himself to redeem us by His death at the cross; and then physically raised by God from the dead.
To me the eye witness credible testimony, the fulfilled prophecy and evidence of His life and death and resurrection are compelling. This is the message of His church and should be clear and unambiguous; the Apostle Paul said, “I resolved to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” 1Cor2:2

I was privileged to know Mark Hayton as a colleague in Rhema Bible Training college Perth WA. I can witness to his personal integrity, humility and personal saving faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. I was impressed by his knowledge of the Scriptures and teaching ability. Students so appreciated what he taught that was exemplified in his life, marriage and family life. I was sad when he left to go to the Eastern States. It was our loss and their gain.
We both have gone through the considerable spiritual anguish as we have seen those who taught certain truths fall by the wayside. This awakened us both to search the Scriptures again to highlight the errors, but in humility knowing we can be seduced, and now with fresh understanding of the meaning of Scripture to share the simplicity of the gospel. Jesus, the Son f God, was incarnated, crucified, resurrected and vindicated, ascended to the right hand of the Father and is Coming Again. Cyril Pritchard
